Beauty is Closer Than you Think.



I look out my window and see these beautiful trees with their rich green and golden leaves shining in the sunlight and think. . . Why do we travel so far to experience beauty when it's right in front of us everywhere we look?
Take a walk on the beach or through a woods and look. . . really look at all the wonders of nature. How lucky we are to live in such an amazing place.

The wind softly rustles the grass at the shore "down home".






How many memories were made here as a child?
The trees have since grown but the same salty smell drifts in the air.
Days of playing in the nearby woods . . .
Building forts and staying out until our tummies told us it was time for lunch.
No warnings about talking to strangers or the UV index.
Things were simple.

I took my dog Gus for a walk today and brought with me a milk bone for him and this apple for me. I shined up the apple, thought how perfect it was and posed it for this photo. We continued our walk and somehow the apple was too beautiful to eat... but in the end, temptation won out. I walked and ate, ate and walked. Gus begged for the core of the unfortunate red apple.
Gus and I returned home. Alas, the apple did not!
